Publishing is only half of the story. Alongside the papers, the group protects the chemistry and the device engineering behind its perovskite photovoltaics — the precursor formulations, the tin-based absorbers, the ways of growing the film, and the layers that carry and protect it. Sixteen patents are on record, six of them already granted, all filed in China through the Southern University of Science and Technology.
